Early Foundations in Monterrey, Mexico (Early 2000s)

Built my first websites in middle school using Microsoft FrontPage. What began as creative experimentation quickly became a passion for solving real problems through digital design and structure.

Academic Roots in Digital Graphic Design (2005–2010)

Graduated from Universidad Regiomontana with a Bachelor’s in Digital Graphic Design. Developed a foundation in communication, interaction, and digital production, skills that would later evolve into user experience strategy and product thinking.

Startup Innovation at Trade Show Factory (2008–2014)

Joined as the first team member and led the transformation from static pages to responsive, CMS-powered digital products. Designed mobile apps and platforms using Bootstrap and Semantic UI for industrial expos across LATAM.

▶ Initiated my journey into AI, using it to automate exhibitor catalog content filtering and streamline searchability. Also explored AR prototypes to enhance customer engagement at in-person events, merging physical and digital experiences before it was mainstream.

Freelance UX & Product Design – Trade Show Consulting (2013–2015)

Contracted to enhance B2B platforms in the industrial event space. Introduced UX best practices, improved flow architecture, and designed responsive experiences tailored to highly specialized user needs.

Distrito Studio – Founder & Director (2014–2016)

Founded a UX and digital research studio for SMEs in Mexico and LATAM. Directed branding, digital strategy, and service design projects. Earned an ISACA Cybersecurity certification, incorporating a security-first lens into my design process.

Behavioral Design & Language Ontology Studies (2015–Present)

Began formal studies in language ontology and human behavior to better understand how people think, communicate, and decide. These insights now inform my work in design leadership, stakeholder facilitation, and mentoring.

UX Strategy at Agencia Huit (2016–2018)

Guided the agency’s evolution into a full-stack digital consultancy. Led UX architecture, digital transformation, and event strategy—merging creative leadership with operational impact.

Enterprise UX at Verizon (2018–2019)

Redesigned internal tools for Verizon’s Change Management platform. Improved usability, streamlined complex workflows, and collaborated across product and engineering to enhance enterprise operations.

Mobile Product Design – CSAA Insurance Group (2020–2022)

Led UX design for mobile experiences including MyPolicy and SmartTrek, driving engagement through personalized onboarding and behavior-based features. Worked cross-functionally in Agile environments to refine and ship user-focused insurance products.

Scaling Impact & Intelligence at Visa Inc. (2019–2025)

At Visa, I played a key role in unifying fragmented B2B products into a cohesive, scalable platform. I worked closely with VPs, product leaders, and business stakeholders to align UX strategy with enterprise goals.
Contributed Atomic Design–based patterns and usability standards to the global design system, earning recognition from the Design System Director. I also led the integration of AI-powered features, including predictive workflows and personalized dashboards—translating complexity into intelligent, user-centric tools.
This role brought together everything I had been building—from early AI experiments and design systems to platform strategy, scale, and global impact.

My Journey.

My passion for digital design began in middle school in Monterrey, Mexico, when I discovered HTML using Microsoft FrontPage. What started as a curiosity quickly became a creative outlet and eventually, a calling. I pursued this interest academically at Universidad Regiomontana, where I formally studied digital design and software administration that laid the foundation for a career dedicated to building better experiences.

My passion for digital design began in middle school in Monterrey, Mexico, when I discovered HTML using Microsoft FrontPage. What started as a curiosity quickly became a creative outlet and eventually, a calling. I pursued this interest academically at Universidad Regiomontana, where I formally studied digital design and software administration that laid the foundation for a career dedicated to building better experiences.

In 2008, I took my first professional step as the very first team member at Trade Show Factory, a role that gave me a front-row seat to startup life. I took charge of comprehensive web projects, introducing Content Management Systems to address previous development hurdles. As the team expanded, I evolved alongside it adopting responsive design, working with Bootstrap and Semantic UI design system, and collaborating closely with developers to launch mobile applications for Industrial Trade Shows including sectors such as telecommunications, plastics, recycling, packaging, safety and security, metalforming, among others. Over time, my focus deepened from building interfaces to shaping user and customer experiences independently at Trade Show Consulting, I combined insights from the trade show industry with UX best practices, refining my ability to design with empathy and business impact in mind.

With seven years of experience under my belt, I launched my own agency Distrito Studio. As founder and director, I led cross-functional teams, oversaw operations, and nurtured client relationships. This chapter not only sharpened my leadership skills but also deepened my technical versatility. My commitment to growth led me to earn a cybersecurity certification issued by ISACA, enhancing the security-conscious lens I bring to design.

In 2015, I took a detour that profoundly influenced my UX practice: a journey into language ontology and human behavior. Studying how people think, communicate, and make decisions gave me a richer understanding of human-centered design. This work has improved my skills from UX strategy to coaching, and it’s one reason I now dedicate time to mentoring aspiring designers, helping them shape their careers with confidence and intention.

After Distrito Studio concluded its operations, I joined Agencia Huit, where I helped steer the agency’s transformation into an inbound marketing service provider. There, I led generating digital strategies, UX architectures, web designs, and even corporate events planning, coordination and excecution, underscoring the breadth of my creative and operational skillset.

In search of new challenges and broader impact, I relocated to the U.S. to join Verizon by supporting reimagine their product ecosystem enhancing not only visual design but also business performance, processes and usability.

Later, I joined Visa, Inc., where I served as VBS Platform Manager and Senior Designer, driving user experience innovation across a suite of commercial products. It's a role that blends everything I love: design, strategy, technology, and people.

My journey has spanned countries, industries, and disciplines, but one theme remains constant: a deep commitment to crafting engaging, usable and friendly experiences that are intuitive, impactful, and human. As I continue to grow in this field, I remain passionate about learning, leading, and helping others thrive in the dynamic world of design and technology.
