While I was studying college, I started my professional journey in 2008 at Trade Show Factory being the first member of the company (proudly) and started my first holistic web based projects by implementing Joomla (CMS) so that I could solve the bitterness that the company was experiencing through their previous developers which didn’t have the required design experience. On the road, I learned about responsive design using bootstrap and semantic ui design system. Later, we restructured our team and I started creating visual designs so that our development team built the mobile apps of all shows taking the role as a product designer so we created an efficient process for delivery. Afterward, I had the need to learn about User and Customer Experience (UX and CX) due to the fact that the trade show industry was growing and customers were demanding better experiences.
While having this huge experience and lot of challenges, Trade Show Consulting (COATech Expo partner of Trade Show Factory and owner and organizer of the biggest manufacturing exhibition in Latin America: Fabtech US/Mexico/Canada) hired me as a consultant to have a better experience in their show. So in there I had the same responsibilities plus logistics experience and other fields where I learned of new behaviors and customer expectations that made me integrate it within my digital experience such as mobile apps, web apps, web development, among others collateral materials.
After 7 years of a very good experience and lot of learned lessons i decided to start my own flight leaving Trade Show Factory behind and go further with my own digital marketing agency: Distrito Studio. Keeping Trade Show Consulting as client, so I improved my leading and technological skills being the head of the operations, managing cross-functional teams and taking care of clients. Also I got my first certification on The Current State of Cybersecurity and the Role of the High Administration from ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association, A.C.). So after 2 years due to administrative issues we decided to end this project and move on in a new adventure.
So after a hard emotional workout, I started my journey once again as an employee at Agencia Huit, which was a simple and common design agency and during my stay, with the support of my co-workers, we focused the business to an inbound and digital marketing agency focused on the end client and user. Later, 3 months after my joining date, I got my Hubspot Certification in Inbound Marketing. Basically, I was focused on digital strategies, but my main role was UX Architect, web designer and developer, UX designer and collateral related with digital technologies. Also, I was in charge of organizing corporate events so another point to leadership skills. Mainly, I was a multitasking co-worker and leader.
2 years later after feeling anxious for getting more knowledge and new experiences, I decided to move to the US with my new employer: Addon Technologies and start a new experience of life as a 360° UX Designer. I started working for Verizon as a UX Lead polishing my UI skills and building up my business side expertise by helping out redesigning the entire product, so we had a better proficiency within the maintenance area.
Later on once the first phase was ended I’ve decided to dig into a new world which caught my attention: Financial Services, so I moved on to my current employer: Visa, Inc. as a VBS Platform Manager focusing our products on a better User Experience.
So, a new story is being written!
